I-T raids at Ramanaidu Studios in Hyderabad

Officials of the Income-Tax (I-T) Department on Wednesday conducted simultaneous raids on Ramanaidu Studios in Hyderabad and other premises owned by popular Tollywood producer Daggubati Suresh Babu.

Hyderabad (Telangana): Sleuths of Income Tax (I-T) on Wednesday conducted searches at Ramanaidu Studios here, owned by popular Telugu film producer Daggubati Suresh Babu and his family, sources said.

"Searches are being conducted at the residences and offices of Suresh Babu in Hyderabad. They are part of the verification of records," sources told media.

Popular actor Venkatesh is the younger brother of Suresh, father of hero Daggubati Rana. It was not clear whether searches were carried out at Venkatesh's residence or office.

Daggubati Suresh Babu is one of the most well known Telugu producers and he also owns Suresh Productions, founded by his father late D Ramanaidu. The raids are pertaining to probable tax evasion by the producer.

Suresh's son is Rana Daggubati is an acclaimed actor, most famously known for his role as Bhallala Deva in Bahubali movie series.

According to reports, calls made to Suresh Babu for his response went unanswered.
