Four died and one was severely injured in a wall collapse at Golnaka, Hyderabad

Hyderabad:Four persons were killed and eight others injured when a wall collapsed at a marriage hall here on Sunday, police said.

The incident occurred at Pearl Garden function hall at Golnaka in Amberpet area when guests at a wedding ceremony were having lunch.

The injured were admitted to a hospital, where the condition of one of them is stated to be critical.

Two auto-rickshaws and six two-wheelers were also damaged in the incident. Rescue teams of Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) launched the operation to clear the debris.

Locals said the function hall was re-opened on Sunday after renovation. Some people alleged that negligence by the management led to the tragedy.

The GHMC announced an ex-gratia of Rs 2 lakh each to the families of the deceased.
