Hubbali (Karnataka): The home of Cyberabad Police Commissioner VC Sajjanar in his native Hubbali was immersed in a festive atmosphere on Friday, after the encounter of the four accused in the Telangana gangrape brought him into the limelight.
'He always fought for social justice,' says brother of VC Sajjanar A proud resident of Karnataka's Hubbali, Vishwanath Sajjanar is the third son of Channappa Sajjanar and Girijamma Sajjanar. Ever since his mother passed away while he was still young, his maternal aunt Mallamma Sajjanar took care of him.
Vishwanath completed his schooling from Lions English Medium School, and graduation from Jagadhguru Gangadara Commerce College. He then went on to complete his MBA at Karnataka University.
An IPS officer of the 1996 batch, Vishwanath started his career as DYSP in Pulivendula in Andhra Pradesh's Kadapa District.
Speaking to ETV Bharat, Vishwanath's brother Prakash Sajjanar, a doctor by profession, said, "He was always soft, sincere, dedicated, and fought for social justice. The nation is feeling proud of today's act, and we are also a part of it."
Prakash recalled that his brother had great leadership qualities and he was a student leader during his college days.
Earlier today, the Telangana Police shot dead all four accused in the gang-rape and murder of a young veterinarian in an encounter near the original crime spot near Shadnagar town.
Incidentally, Sajjanar, who is known as the 'encounter specialist', had a crucial role to play in the killings of several Naxals and even the three accused in the 2008 Warangal acid attack case.
