ECI announces dates for legislative council elections in AP, Telangana

Hyderabad: Election Council of India announced dates for biennial election to five seats each of Andhra Pradesh Legislative Council and Telangana Legislative Council on Monday. The elections will be held on March 12.

According to the commission, notification for elections to these seats will be issued on February 21.

As per the schedule, polls will take place on March 12 from 9 am to 4 pm while the counting of votes will take place the same day.

The officials have informed that the last date of filing nominations is February 28 and the last date for withdrawal of candidature will be March 5.
