Hyderabad:As the coronavirus continues to spread, negligence on the part of government is proving fatal for the common man. The kin of a 60-year-old man, who sccumbed to coronavirus infection, performed last rites after six days due to lack of coordination among the concerned authorities.
The 60-year-old resident of Annapurna Colony in Mallapur, was admitted to Osmania General Hospital on June 6 after he developed a high fever. After two days, the hospital notified the patient's family members that he tested positive for COVID-19.
However, 15 minutes later, the staff called again to inform that the patient succumbed to coronavirus infection and the body will be handed over to the Nacharam police station.
Reportedly, there was a delay in collecting body due to a shortage of staff at the police station as some of the personnel have contracted the infection.
