Daughters, son disown dead body of mother over property dispute

Children refused to perform the last rites for their 70-year-old dead mother as she nominated some other person as a nominee for her property. The story of this filial ingratitude surfaced in R B Nagar Colony of Telangana's Kamareddy. If nobody turns up, municipal authorities are waiting to cremate the body as an orphan.

Kamareddy (Telangana) : The only son and two daughters refused to take the body of their dead mother as she did not distribute the property and the deposit money in her bank account was not given to them. This inhuman incident took place in Kamareddy. According to the Police, Kishtavva, the 70-year-old woman from RB Nagar Colony in Kamareddy, was suffering from illness. On the 21st of last month, the family members admitted her to Kamareddy Government Hospital.

Kishtavva died on Saturday night after being treated in the hospital for 15 days. The news of her death was conveyed to the family members by the hospital staff. However, for two days, her sons and daughters did not take their mother's dead body from the hospital. The hospital staff informed the police. Kishtavva's dead body was preserved in the mortuary.

Kishtavva has two daughters and a son. They live in Kamareddy. There is a house in Kishtavva's name. Over 1.70 lakh rupees is deposited in the bank in her account. Kishthavva's son and daughters grew angry with her because she did not give this property and money to them. Instead, she kept her relative (details unknown) as her nominee. Enraged with this Kishtavva's children did not come to the hospital to take her dead body for cremation.

Hospital staff and police are waiting to hand over Kishtavva's body to her family members. If no one comes, there is a chance that the body will be treated as an orphan and cremated by the municipal staff.
