2 GHMC workers die in accident

Two GHMC workers died in a mishap at dump yard near Imbliban bus station. A compensation of Rs 11.5 lakh and Rs 7 lakh has been announced for their families.

Hyderabad: Two Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) workers lost their lives in an accident at a dump yard near Imbliban bus station.

Corporation driver Arif and helper Haji Khan were crushed to death on Tuesday when a compactor vehicle, which was on standby, suddenly reversed, pinning both the persons to the wall.

GHMC Mayor Ram Mohan announced a compensation of Rs 11.5 lakh and Rs 7 lakh to the families of Arif and Haji Khan, respectively.

The bodies of the two GHMC workers have been shifted to Osmania General Hospital for postmortem.
