Woman masks up, introduces self as health official to rob grandmother

A woman has been arrested for allegedly robbing her grandmother in Madurai's Usilampatti town. The accued tied her grandmother and took away 11 gold chains.

Madurai (Tamil Nadu):In a shocking incident, the Madurai police arrested a woman for allegedly robbing her grandmother by masking up and introducing herself as a health official. The incident took place at her residence in Usilampatti town. Police identified the accused as Uma Devi.

"She tied me with the ropes and took away at least 11 gold chains," said Munniyammal, the victim.

Meanwhile, the local police said that when they started investigating the case, they found that it was the victim's granddaughter who was the culprit.

They added that the accused has been arrested and further investigation into the matter is underway.
