Wild elephant enters forcibly into Siruvani Water treatment plant in Coimbatore

A wild male elephant forcibly entered the Siruvani water treatment plant on Tuesday. Later, the staff chased the elephant away by bursting crackers. The residents have requested the forest officials to send the elephant back to the forest area.

Coimbatore: A male wild elephant entered forcibly into Siruvani water treatment plant by breaking the iron gates on Tuesday. The entire incident was captured by the staff members of the water plant.

A large number of elephants, tigers, leopards are residing in the Boluvampatti forest range under the Western Ghats. The Western Ghats has become a habitat for these animals owing to its favourable climate.

Many wild elephants often come to Sadivayal forest area to graze, which is nearby the Siruvani water treatment plant.

Later, the staff chased the elephant away by bursting crackers and creating noise.

Residents in the area have reported that the single-horned elephant often roam in the the area and also attacks the Kumki elephants.

The residents have also requested the forest officials to send the elephant back to the forest area.
