Chennai:Signs of the rift are emerging in the AIADMK-BJP alliance in Tamil Nadu after former minister C Ve Shanmugam on Tuesday blamed BJP for AIADMK's loss in the recent state Assembly polls. Shamugan, at a public event in Villupuram, said that AIADMK lost minority votes because of its alliance with the BJP. He stated that the minorities voted against the alliance and it turned out as a major factor for AIADMK's defeat in the recently concluded assembly polls in the state.
Meanwhile, BJP state general secretary KT Raghavan condemned Shanmugam's remark blaming the party for the election debacle in Tamil Nadu by saying that his charges are baseless and such kind of remarks on a public forum is unacceptable. He also urged AIADMK leadership to explain the party's stand over the issue.
