Thief vandalises shop, leaves letter for shop-owner for emptying cash box

A thief at Neyveli town in Cuddalore district vandalised the shop and left a letter for the shop-owner as he didn't get anything to steal.

Cuddalore (Tamil Nadu): A thief left a letter for the shop-owner for keeping the cash box empty at Neyveli town in Cuddalore district on Friday.

Jayaraj (65) who runs a grocery store in Neyveli said that a thief had entered his shop last night and left a letter for him.

"Last night, I had closed the shop and went home as usual. When I opened the shop today morning, I was shocked to see the scattered items in the shop."

In his letter addressed to the shop owner, the thief said, "I had come to steal risking my life. Is it fair for you to disappoint me by clearing out the entire cash box? You cheated me by leaving no money. This (vandalisation of shop) is punishment for you."

Based on the complaint lodged by Jayaraj, Cuddalore police are currently investigating this incident.
