New Delhi:With few months to go for Tamil Nadu State Assembly elections, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) ruling at the centre and Tamil Nadu’s ruling All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (AIADMK) alliance is witnessing fissures as the differences between the national party and the Dravidian major have been continuing consistently.
After a few unknown persons who defaced AIADMK founder and ace Tamil matinee icon MG Ramachandran’s statue in Puducherry with the saffron shawl, the current leadership had come down hard against the BJP.
“We cannot tolerate these kinds of arrogant acts. Covering MGR’s statue with saffron shawl cannot be accepted at any cost. It is a barbaric act,” said
Edappadi K. Palaniswami, the Chief Minister and coordinator of the AIADMK. However, the BJP leaders claimed that saffron is not a colour for degrading.
Not only the MGR’s statue, but some had also tied saffron flag on the statue of former Chief Minister CN Annadurai/Anna, who is the mentor for MGR and late CM Karunanidhi as well.

Certainly, when MGR made a break away from the DMK, he named after Anna for his party All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam.
O Panneerselvam who is also the coordinator and Dy CM of the state had also hit out at the people who covered saffron flag before the statue of Anna.
