Tamil Nadu witnesses steep decline in UG Engineering admissions

Out of 1,57,689 which is the total number of vacant seats, only 1,12,406 students were qualified for counseling. So far only 69,749 students enrolled themselves for admission. Meanwhile, 91,805 seats remain vacant.

Chennai:With Tamil Nadu Engineering Admission (TNEA-UG) - 2020 general counseling concluding today, the state witnessed a steep decline in the number of engineering admissions.

Out of 1,57,689 which is the total number of vacant seats, only 1,12,406 students were qualified for counseling. So far only 69,749 students enrolled themselves for admission. Meanwhile, 91,805 seats remain vacant.

20 engineering colleges in the state haven't seen a single enrollment, while 322 colleges yet fill up their 50 percent of vacant seats.
