Tirunelveli: Hari Singh, owner of the popular Iruttu Kadai halwa shop in Tamil Nadu's Tirunelveli, died by suicide on Thursday.
Last week, Singh, a native of Rajasthan, was hospitalized in a private nursing home in Perumalpuram after being tested as corona-positive.
He committed suicide by drinking poison, sources said.
His body has been taken to a government hospital in Palayamkottai for autopsy.
The district police have filed a case and the investigation is underway.
Tirunelveli's Iruttukadai Halwa shop is world famous for their mouth melting high-quality halwa.
Uniqueness in its taste has mainly been attributed to “Thamirabarani” river water.
