Meanwhile, the National Security agencies in India have kept all suspected anti-national organisations and its sympathisers in Tamil Nadu under the scanner. A senior government official on condition of anonymity told ETV Bharat that involvement of Tamil Nadu Thowheed Jamaat (TNTJ) in Sri Lanka blasts could not be ruled out.

This assumes significance as the authorities in Sri Lanka have pointed towards the involvement of National Tawheed Jamaat (NTJ) in the Easter blasts that killed more than 350 people.

The official said that NTJ has deep-rooted connection with the Tamil Nadu based TNTJ. The TNTJ is also influenced by the Islamic State (IS). Strategic affairs expert termed the development as serious, which might have implications in India too in future.

"The authorities in Sri Lanka have suspected NTJ behind the Easter blasts. The NTJ has its connections in Tamil Nadu. The Centre should work in tandem with the Tamil Nadu Government so that any possible incidents could be averted in India," said New Delhi based strategic affairs expert Rajeev Sharma.

He said that the government of Sri Lanka should also take the help of Indian Government in this connection. Meanwhile, security agencies in Kerala have already initiated a probe on whether any of the Islamic State (IS) modules in the state have links with the Easter terror attacks.
