Tamil Nadu: 4 dead, 5 injured after truck rams into 15 vehicles

As many 15 vehicles rammed into each other on Salem-Bangalore National Highway in near Dharmapuri in Tamil Nadu on Saturday. The accident was triggered by a speeding truck which was headed to Salem as it lost control and crashed into stationary traffic.

Dharmapuri (Tamil Nadu): Four persons were killed, while five others critically injured after a speeding truck rammed into as many 15 vehicles on Salem-Bangalore National Highway in near Dharmapuri in Tamil Nadu on Saturday. The accident was triggered by a speeding truck which was headed to Salem as it lost control and crashed into stationary traffic.

The deceased persons' identities are yet o be ascertained. The injured have been admitted to the Dharmapuri government health centre.

A police team after reaching the spot seized the mangled vehicles and sent the bodies for post mortem.

The road was blocked for several hours following the accident. Police said they will ascertain the cause of the accident after investigating into the case.
