Chennai triple murder case: Special team rushed to Pune

Chennai witnessed a triple murder On Thursday. A man named Tali Chand was found murdered along with his wife and son. A family dispute is said to have been the reason behind the murder.

Chennai:Talil Chand hailed from Rajasthan and was married to Pushpa Bai (70). They were survived by a son, Seethal (38), and a daughter, Pinky. Talil Chand was running a financing firm in the city, The family stayed on the first floor of a three-storey residential apartment in Vinayaga Maestri Street at Sowcarpet, Chennai. Daughter Pinky lives with her husband in the same locality.

On November 11 Talil Chand’s daughter, Pinki went to her parents’ home and found the trio dead inside their bedroom. She alerted the police personnel. Cops rushed to the spot. A team of fingerprint experts and forensic experts were summoned to the spot. A sniffer dog was pressed into service to trace the assailants. Also the city police commissioner, North Chennai additional commissioner and officers visited the spot. It is a murder case. All three members of the family have been shot dead.

The police have formed five special teams to trace the assailants with the help of CCTV camera footage from nearby areas. Initial investigation revealed that there was a property dispute between Talichand family and their relatives. Cops are investigating various angles.

After a preliminary investigation, Police suspect closed-circuit TV (CCTV) footage was used to zero in on Seethal's wife Jayamala, her two brothers and three other men, who are considered to be prime suspects.

Eyewitnesses and family members have told the police that Seethal and his wife Jayamala would often squabble. Their two daughters, aged 13 and 11 years, live with his estranged wife in Pune.

Her family members had filed a dowry harassment case against Seethal in Pune, The couple was married for 14 years and the two families had protracted disputes. A divorce case is also pending at a family court in Chennai, according to local media reports. Also, a complaint was lodged at the Yanaikkavuni police station on September 29 last year alleging that Jayamala and her relatives had assaulted Seethal Jain and his parents.
