Chennai: Sneha Mohandoss, founder of NGO Food Bank India and one of the seven women achievers who made the first post on Prime Minister Narendra Modi's twitter handle on International Women's Day on Sunday said that her motto is to create a hunger-free nation and shared her experiences of handling her NGO.
Mohandoss, a Chennai resident, who launched her 'Food Bank,' an initiative to provide food to the homeless in 2015 said she was very happy and proud to have got the opportunity.
"Our major concept and motto is to provide food to hungry people. We cook extra food at home and distribute it among the homeless. We even collect extra food from the marriages, parties, events for distribution," she told ETV Bharat here.
While talking about her experience while handling PM Modi's Twitter account, she said, "It was a huge responsibility as the whole India was watching. So, my message should convey what I was supposed to say and should correctly reach the people."
She added, "It was only possible with the help of my volunteers. I am not the only one who is behind providing food to the homeless, we have a team which makes it work."
Through the PM's twitter handle, the message has reached a wider section of people, she said.
Monhandoss further added, "I tried to be my best. We plan to have everyone on the ground and serve the needy people."
