Six men stranded near Minicoy island rescued, test negative for COVID-19

Six men, who were on a business trip and stranded near Lakshadweep's Minicoy island for two days, were rescued by a group of fellow merchants on Monday. They were then sent back to Mangalore by van after testing negative for coronavirus.

Thoothukudi (Tamil Nadu): Six men who were stranded near Lakshadweep's Minicoy island for two days were rescued by a group of fellow merchants on Monday.

The men had to go on a business trip to Minicoy island on May 21 and they were reportedly stuck in a storm ripping off and drowning their small merchandise boat 'Hassan Allah'.

Meanwhile, a group of fellow merchants who were on their way back from Minicoy to Tamil Nadu's Thoothukudi saw the stranded-six and rescued and dropped them off at Thoothukudi old Harbor.

They were then sent back to Mangalore by van after testing negative for coronavirus.

They recused were identified as Basheer Ahmed, Iqbal Muhammed Mupeni, Zakariya Ahmed, Saleem, Muhammed Sambaniya, Muhammed Hussein.
