Chennai (Tamil Nadu): At least seven workers, including six minors, were rescued from a 'pani puri' vendor in Chennai on Tuesday.
The vendor, identified as Ajith Kumar, is a resident of Chennai's Ayanavaram area.
He reportedly brought seven people from his home state Bihar, including six minors for helping him in the 'pani puri' business and later, started to harass them.
Three of the minors escaped to Bihar and complained about the harassment and stated that they were treated as slaves.
Based on the complaint lodged by children's relatives in the Child Welfare Board, Police rescued remaining four workers, including three minors.
Officials are currently investigating the matter.
