Chennai:World Badminton champion PV Sindhu met actor-politician Kamal Haasan in Chennai on Thursday.
Ace Indian shuttler and Rio Olympic silver-medallist got a huge welcome by actor cum politician Kamal Haasan.
PV Sindhu met Makkal Nidhi Maiyam Leader Kamal Haasan at his party office in Chennai.
Sindhu, who had lunch with the veteran actor, said her ultimate aim is to win laurels for the country in the 2020 Tokyo Olympics.
PV said, "I am glad to meet the most well-performing actor who also doing good in politics. I watched many of his movies and I like his acting very much".
She added, "My next aim is to win the gold medal in the upcoming Olympics 2020 and I'm practising very hard for it. Olympic qualifications are going on and I hope I do my best and get gold."
Haasan said Sindhu, who recently became the first Indian to win gold in the badminton World championship in Switzerland in August, was a "celebration of the country's pride."
He further added, "I will support PV Sindhu in all the possible ways I can. Being in cinema I can't stand against the banner practice. The banner can be placed after getting proper approval from the concerned authorities."
When reporters asked him about the Chinese president's visit to India, he said, "After 60 years the Chinese president is coming to India. To cherish the moment we should welcome him with all our hearty wishes. This informal summit will develop a good relationship between the two countries."
