Police nab youth for smuggling 'cannabis oil' in Madurai

Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) has seized Rs 20 lakh worth 'cannabis oil' from a youth near Samayanallur area in Madurai of Tamil Nadu.

Madurai: The Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) arrested a youth and busted Rs 20 lakh worth cannabis oil, here in Madurai.

Acting on a tip-off, that rare cannabis oil was being smuggled on a Thiruchendur-Bangalore bound private bus, the NCB launched a search operation in Madurai.

When one NCB officer searched inside a bus plying through an area near Samayanallur, he nabbed one passenger for possessing the cannabis oil.

The accused is identified as Abdul Kareem, a resident of Bangalore.

"We seized 970 Mg of oil worth Rs. 20 lakh," police said.
