Nationwide lockdown: a 70-years-old dies of hunger

Amid nationwide lockdown, a 70-years-old man died of hunger on Monday in Sakkudi Villaku area near Thirupuvanam. Police rushed to the spot and seized the body. They are also investigating whereas the cause of death is starvation or not.

Sivaganga:Amid ongoing lockdown, Thirupuvanam police were informed by people Sakkudi Villaku area in Sivaganga that a 70-years old man's body has been found here who is said to have died from starvation.

Due to the lockdown, many homeless and elderly people are staying here at Madurai - Paramakudi four-lane road in Sivaganga District.

A nationwide curfew is imposed to prevent COVID-19 outbreak, these homeless people are not getting their food and other essential items.

Usually, people who are staying in neighbouring areas and the passer-by provide essential items like food and water to these homeless people.
