When the undertakers arrived to collect the body they found it was moving inside the cabinet. Saravanan told them that his brother's soul was trying to leave the body and that's why it was moving.

The undertaker called the police and an enquiry by health department official Malarvizhi revealed that Balasubramaniam was placed in the cabinet after acquiring a fake death certificate from a doctor.

Police have registered a case against Saravanan under two sections including negligence and another case against the management of the hospital and its doctor who issued the fake certificate.
