Man sends obscene video to Tamil Nadu police on WhatsApp, held

Ramanathapuram district police in Tamil Nadu received an obscene video of a man in their WhatsApp number. The police tracked the man and arrested him on Monday. He was reported to be working at a private company in Saravanampatti.

Coimbatore:A youth was arrested on Monday for allegedly sending an obscene video to the WhatsApp number of Ramanathapuram district police control room.

"An obscene video from an unknown number landed in Ramanathapuram district police control room WhatsApp number, a man has sent his naked video," police said after seeing that video.

Police tracked the person and found out that the youth named Prem Kumar was working at a private company in Saravanampatti.

Ramanathapuram police, with Premkumar's number, identified his home address, went to Coimbatore and arrested him, and is being prosecuted under the IT Act.

Preliminary inquiries revealed that the video was mistakenly sent to the Ramanathapuram police control room.
