Man thrashed for posting photo of himself having beef, 4 held

A man, who put a Facebook post of having beef soup in Nagapattinam of Tamil Nadu, was attacked by a group of people belonging to a number of right-wing political parties. A case has been registered under various sections of Indian Penal Code and four people have been arrested in this regard.

Nagapattinam (Tamil Nadu):Four people, allegedly belonging to right-wing political parties, were arrested on Saturdayfrom Poravachi village of Tamil Nadu's Nagapattinam districtfor attacking a man who posted a photo of himself having beef soup on Facebook.

Reportedly, Muhammed Faisal, a resident of Poravachi in Nagapattinam district, had posted a picture of himself having beef soup on Facebook on Friday. The post read, "Nothing can beat the taste of beef soup."

Following this, a group of people belonging to various political groups like Hindu Makkal Katchi, AMMK, etc, raised an objection and allegedly attacked him at his residence.

Faisal is currently undergoing treatment in a nearby government hospital.

Police have registered a case under various sections of Indian Penal Code against the four alleged accused- Dinesh Kumar, Ganesh Kumar, Mohan Kumar, and Augustin.

Faisal had been, allegedly, also posting anti-Hindu content on Facebook.
