Chennai:The Madras High Court has dismissed a plea by Lyca productions company, seeking to restrain director Shankar from making other movies without completing Indian 2.
The filming of Indian 2, directed by Shankar and produced by Lyca productions, was put on hold. Following this, Lyca productions had moved the HC seeking director Shankar be restained from directing other films until the completion ofIndian 2.
Lyca had said that the film was initially budgeted at Rs 150 crores but the project cost has now gone up to Rs.236 crores. The production company said that only 80 per cent of the work related to the movie has been completed so far. The company also informed that Shankar was already paid Rs.32 crores and it was ready to pay the balance amount.
