Lockdown forces Tamil Nadu lawyer to sell tea outside court

Syed Haroon a lawyer from Erode of Tamil Nadu had come to Chennai before the lockdown was announced. He was denied the e-pass to return back to Chennai Syed, has been selling tea outside the Erode court, in order to manage his daily expenses.

Erode: Unable to return to Chennai due to the Coronavirus induced lockdown, a senior lawyer of the high court here has started selling tea outside the court.

Syed Haroon who hails from Thirunagar Colony at Erode district of Tamil Nadu had come to Chennai before the lockdown was announced.

He was denied the e-pass to return back to Chennai as there was no valid reason he could give for his return.

Since then, he has been selling tea on his bicycle, in order to manage his daily expenses.

He has placards on his bicycle to request the government to reopen the courts.

Syed in his lawyer's coat while selling tea says, "The Government has to give permission to open courts just as it gave permission for other industries. The people who have been relying on the court for judgments have been struggling hard at this lockdown period. The lawyers who were also depending on the courts have also been severely affected. A fund of Rs 10,000 has to be given to the lawyers".
