Chennai:The Madras high court on Tuesday agreed to shift P Rajgopala founder of famous food chain Saravana Bhavan to private hospital citing health reasons.
A petition was filed in the high court by Saravana Bhavan owner's lawyer to move Rajagopal, who has been given a life sentence in a decades-old murder case, back to the private hospital where he was receiving treatment before his surrender last week.
Rajagopal has been convicted in a murder case of Prince Santhakumar in 2001 who surrendered on July 7.The motive for the killing was to marry Santhakumar’s wife Jeevajothi, who was the daughter of a former employee. The plot was that an astrologer advised Rajagopal that if he marries Jeevajothi he will own more wealth.
