Chennai:Lenin Ratchahanathan, Senior Correspondent ETV Bharat Chennai Bureau passed away after suffering a heart attack on Monday. Lenin was 38. A thorough professional, he covered environmental news with passion and social concern in an impactful manner.
Lenin was also keenly covering the Tamil Nadu General Secretariat. His friends and colleagues remember him as a team player and would always be up to help the others with their stories and would readily share his contacts. He never shied away from asking the right questions.
He had previously worked for noted media houses including The New Indian Express, DT Next and Deccan Chronicle. A prolific journalist, Lenin was unwell for the last few days and was suffering from jaundice. He eventually passed away due to a cardiac arrest on Monday evening. His final rites be carried out on Tuesday.
A native of Pudukkottai, Lenin was heading to Tiruchi after he was discharged on Monday morning from a hospital. He collapsed while he was waiting for a bus in the Omni bus terminus in Koyambedu. Fellow passengers alerted the 108 ambulance service team whose attempts to resuscitate him did not fructify.
