Chennai: The state government will give priority in government jobs to applicants who have studied Tamil medium, said finance minister Palanivel Thiagarajan in the assembly here on Tuesday.
Replying to a question raised by Tamizhaga Vazhvurimai Katchi leader Velmurugan over denial of jobs to those applicants, who studied Tamil medium, the minister pointed out, "The state government is well aware of this and applicants who have studied Tamil medium will be given priority. Moreover, the AIADMK government, which had given job priority to those who had not studied the Tamil language had made several mistakes, which will be rectified by DMK government."
Meanwhile Higher education minister Ponmudi said: "Those who studied the Tamil language will be given priority for jobs and the same was mentioned in the Governor's speech."
