CUTN seeks explanation from students for participating in debate on Art 370

Thiruvarur (Tamil Nadu): The Central University of Tamil Nadu (CUTN) in Thiruvarur issued a notice to 30 students for participating in a debate on Article 370 and putting up posters in support of the Article in the University premises.

According to reports, the students participated in a debate on 'The consequences Kashmir will face after removing of Article 370'

The students then allegedly put up posters and notes in support of Article 370 across the University premises, following which the University registrar issued a notice to 30 students, seeking an explanation from them in the regard.

"It has been brought to the notice of the administration that some of the students as a group have planned to congregate and raise slogans in the name of students' freedom of speech inside the University campus which is against the law, rules, regulations and established procedures," the notice read.

The University also said that any student who indulges in activities threatening the security and integrity of India will be dismissed without any inquiry.

"Anybody or group of persons who indulge in activities which is a threat to the security and integrity of India will not be tolerated and stern action will be taken against them including dismissal from the University without conduct of any inquiry followed by criminal action under IPC," the notice added.
