COVID-19: Man escapes from Madurai quarantine camp to meet girlfriend

A 24-year-old man named Vijay who has recently returned from Dubai escaped from the Madurai Chinna Udaippu corona monitoring camp to meet his girlfriend. Later he was brought back to Madurai quarantine camp by a special police team.

Madurai (Tamil Nadu):A 24-year-old man who has recently returned from Dubai, was nabbed for allegedly escaping on Wednesday from the Madurai Chinna udaippu corona monitoring camp to meet his girlfriend, police said.

Vijay, a resident of Keelapoongudi village in Sivaganga district was living in isolation with the coronavirus suspicion after he had returned from Dubai on March 23.

Following his escape from the isolation camp, a special police team was pressed into action found that he has gone to meet his girlfriend in Sivaganga.

Meanwhile, he was brought back to Madurai isolation camp, said police.

However, the district health department has been ordered to keep an eye over the house of Vijay's girlfriend for COVID-19 suspicion.
