Chennai:The Deputy Commissioner of Police in Tamil Nadu's Chennai city tested positive for coronavirus on Monday, sources said.
Reportedly, while supervising preventive measures at the Koyambedu Market region and inspecting visits for the past couple of days, he tested positive for the deadly virus.
It is being told that Koyambedu Market region of the city is flooded with COVID-19 cases and people residing in the area are more vulnerable to catching the coronavirus.
Following physical illness and symptoms similar to COVID-19, he got tested for the virus on Saturday and the results turned out to be positive.
As per reports, after being tested positive for the virus, he was admitted at Kilpauk Medical College Hospital (KMC) in the city for medical treatment.
Meanwhile, DCP's office is being sanitised and as a preventive measure all those, who came in his contact have been quarantined.
