Chennai: Congress President Rahul Gandhi on Wednesday charmed the crowd at an interactive session at Chennai's Stella Maris College, as he asked a student to address him as 'Rahul' and not 'sir'.
During the session, Azra, a student from the college's finance department addressed the Congress president as 'Sir' while asking him a question, to which he candidly replied, "Can you call me Rahul instead of sir? It makes me comfortable."
His reply drew thunderous applause from the students, as a visibly blushing Azra paused and emphasized on the word 'Rahul' before going on to ask her question.
When asked by another student what the Congress party would do to strengthen the economy if voted to power, the Gandhi scion was quick to respond that they would simplify the GST and try to cut the taxes as much as possible.
