Mansukh Mandiya says vaccines for kids only after clinical trial

Union Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya who was in Jaipur to attend an event stated that children will only be vaccinated after a complete research and trial.

Jaipur: Union Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya on Thursday said children will only be vaccinated after a complete clinical trial and a proper research of the Covid vaccine developed by Bharat Biotech and Zydus Cadila.

The health minister who was in Jaipur to attend an event said "Children will be administered the vaccine only after a clinical trial of the vaccine. Two companies, Bharat Biotec and Zydus Cadila are working on it. The third phase of the clinical trial of the vaccine is underway. The vaccine will be available only after proper research and trial,"

Speaking over the recent rise in Covid cases in Kerala, the union minister said he had visited the state and a team of experts are monitoring the situation round-the-clock.

"I had visited Kerala after a spike in Covid cases in the state. A team of experts have been constituted to monitor the situation round-the-clock. I am in touch with the Chief Minister of the state and other health officials. The situation is under control," the health minister added.
