Barmer (Rajasthan):The T-55 tank, which proved lethal ammunition during the war of 1971, which was fought between India and Pakistan, has reached at Barmer on Friday.
As per the report, the deadly tank would be placed at the War Museum here.
While speaking to ETV Baharat, the organiser of team Thar, Raghuvir Singh Tamlor said that the tank is a symbol of bravery and it is a demand of the people here to place the tank in the War Museum.
T-55 tank used during 1971 war reaches Rajasthan's Barmer "As this is a native place of Lieutenant General Hanut Singh, whowas decorated with the Maha Vir Chakra for his role in the Battle of Basantar in the Indo-Pakistani War of 1971, this tank would resemble his bravery", said Tamlor to ETV Bharat.
People welcoming the T-55 tank As the tank reached the Barmer town, people were seen enthusiastic to welcome the lethal weapon.
In 1971, the Indian Army brought the Pakistani army to its knees, took 93,000 Pakistani prisoners and gave 75 million people of Bangladesh their independence.
