Sachin Pilot reconciles ahead of Assembly Session in Rajasthan

New Delhi:Just a few days ahead of the commencement of Assembly Session in Rajasthan, Sachin Pilot is back in Congress party after a nod was given to constitute a three-member AICC committee to resolve the issues of rebel leaders with the indications of a possible breakthrough among party leaders started emerging.

Reacting to his return, Pilot said that the issues were ideological and it was important to raise them.

"A lot of things have been said about me. I felt surprised about a few statements. But I believe that we should always maintain restraint and humility as there is no place for personal malice in politics," Pilot asserted.

Earlier on Monday, he sought an appointment to meet Congress leader Rahul Gandhi at his residence in New delhi.

While confirming about the meeting of Pilot with Rahul Gandhi, Congress General Secretary Incharge KC Venugopal in a statement said, " He expressed his grievances in detail. They have had a frank, open and conclusive discussion. Pilot has committed to working in the interest of the Congress and the Rajasthan government."

Pilot met with Rahul Gandhi for the first time in the month, since he launched a revolt against Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot. Congress General Secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra was also present during the meeting.

Venugopal informed that a three-member committee will be formed in Congress which will make the modalities to resolve the issue. "Following this meeting, Congress President Sonia Gandhi has decided that AICC will constitute a three-member committee to address the issues raised by Sachin Pilot and other aggrieved MLAs and arrive at an appropriate resolution thereof," he added.

Congress party has also become successful in neutralising a few MLAs of Pilot Camp. Recently, Congress leader Bhanwar Lal Sharma also met Gehlot in Jaipur after which he told the reporters that he no longer has any resentment.

According to sources, Sonia Gandhi also talked with Ashok Gehlot, earlier on Monday, to take him into the loop about the current situation. All the grievances of Sachin Pilot were being addressed, but removing Ashok Gehlot from the post of Rajasthan Chief Minister is out of context, said a leader.

It has also been said that Sachin Pilot, along with his other rebel MLAs are likely to return to Jaipur till Tuesday morning. Due to the ill health of 2 MLAs of Pilot's camp, the timing of their return is still uncertain.

The three-member committee of Congress senior leaders will 'hear all the sides' and discuss the issues which turned into a political turmoil in Rajasthan. Later, a final report will be submitted to the party high command.
