Raje miffed as loyalists left out of Rajasthan BJP executive committee

According to sources, former Rajasthan Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje met BJP general secretary BL Santhosh and expressed her displeasure that many of her loyalists were left out of the new executive committee of the party's state unit.

New Delhi: Former Rajasthan Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje has expressed her displeasure to the BJP high-command over many of her loyalists not finding a spot in the newly-formed executive committee of party's state unit, sources said.

According to sources, Raje is miffed with the party's central leadership, as many of her loyalists were not included in the executive committee. Further many leaders who she does not share a good relationship, have been included in the committee.

Rajasthan BJP's new executive committee was reportedly constituted on August 1.

Raje had gone to New Delhi last week and met a few central leaders It was being said that she would also meet Prime Minister Narendra Modi, but that meeting never took place.

Nonetheless, Raje met BJP general secretary (Organisation) BL Santhosh. Sources said that Raje complained to Santhosh that the members of the new executive committee were mostly loyalists of BJP state president Satish Poonia and those with an RSS background.

MP CP Joshi, MLA Chandrakanta Meghwal, Alka Gurjar (former MLA), Ajaypal Singh, Hemraj Meena, Prasan Mehta, Mukesh Dadhich and Madhoram Chaudhary were appointed as the party's vice-presidents in the state.

Madan Dilawar, who has been appointed as a general secretary is said to be close to the RSS.

According to sources, Raje also complained that the new executive committee does not give her importance, and added that if the party wanted to work as a strong opposition, coordination was important.

However, Santhosh told Raje to work in coordination with the new executive members so that the wrong message is not sent to the public - that there are two lobbies functioning within the Rajasthan BJP.

Earlier on August 1, the BJP announced its new executive committee for Rajasthan, including eight vice-presidents and four general secretaries.

State BJP president Satish Poonia said the party has taken care of social factors besides the combination of young and experienced faces in the new executive committee.
