An Anganwadi worker was charred to death by miscreants over a money dispute in Rajasthan. Rajasthan police registered a case and launched a manhunt to nab the accused persons.

Bharatpur: A married woman was allegedly charred to death by four miscreants over money dispute at Agrapara village under Rupbas police limits in Rajasthan's Bharatpur, police said on Tuesday.

The deceased woman has been identified as Sarbesh Singh, an Anganwadi worker of the same village.

According to police, the incident took place on Friday when Sarbesh's husband, Kumbar had a verbal duel with one, Suresh Kushbaha of the same village regarding money matter.

However, the matter took an ugly turn when Suresh and his friends allegedly thrashed up Sarbesh and her husband. In a fit of rage, Suresh and his allies poured kerosene over them, set them on fire and fled from the spot.

On being informed about the incident, locals informed the police and admitted the couple at Rupbas government hospital. As the woman sustained over 50 per cent burn injuries, she was shifted to Bharatpur DHH.

The woman was again shifted to Jaipur as her health condition deteriorated. However, she succumbed to injuries while undergoing treatment at the hospital on Monday. Meanwhile, her husband sustained burn injuries and undergoing treatment at Bharatpur DHH.

Acting on the complaint of Sarbesh's brother, Rupbas police registered a case and launched a manhunt to nab the accused persons.
