New Delhi: Rajasthan Assembly Speaker, CP Joshi, has moved to the Supreme Court challenging the Rajasthan High Court's directions barring him from taking any action against Congress leaders Sachin Pilot and other 18 rebel MLAs.

The High Court had yesterday reserved its order for 24th July. Till then, the speaker has been asked to not take any action. He was supposed to decide the matter by Tuesday evening but the High Court's order has put a stay on it.

Joshi has contended that court cannot interfere in the assembly proceedings as per the Kihoto Hollohan judgement and therefore he has approached the top court.

Joshi had issued notices on 14th July to the 19 rebel Congress MLAs.

The hearing is sought for today itself.
