Bharatpur: Seven people have so far died after consuming poisonous liquor in Chak Samri village of Bharatpur district, Rajasthan.
On Thursday morning, another sick person died while being taken to Jaipur for treatment and four more people succumbed during treatment in the hospital.
Rajasthan: Seven die due to poisonous liquor District in-charge, Minister Mahesh Joshi has directed the officials of the Excise Department, District Administration, and Police to take drastic action in this whole matter and issued a statement saying that death by poisonous liquor is sad and selling of spurious liquor will not be allowed in the district.
He added that the post-mortem reports will further shed light on the exact cause of the deaths.
Two people died on Wednesday after consuming poisonous liquor in Chak Samri village after which the remaining eight sick people were admitted to RBM District Hospital in Bharatpur.
Three other sick people are undergoing treatment at RPM District Hospital.

According to the information, the illegal business of liquor has been going on in the village for a long time. Despite various complaints, the administration did not take any action that has now resulted in deaths angering a lot of villagers.
The incident comes a day after nearly 21 people lost their lives allegedly after consuming spurious liquor in Madhya Pradesh's Morena.
