Rajasthan 'horse-trading' MLA's homes searched

Anti-corruption detectives searched properties of lawmaker Sanjay Jain who is accused of 'horse-trading' in the power struggle in Rajasthan.

Bikaner:A team of the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) led by Additional Superintendent of Police (ASP) Rajneesh Poonia of Bikaner Bureau raided the various residence of Sanjay Jain including his ancestral property at Lunkansar on Saturday.

Jain, key accused in Rajasthan's MLA trading case is under arrest.

After getting information that the ACB team is searching Jain's ancestral residence a crowd gathered outside Jayanti Ghar, after which the police and Rajasthan Armed Constabulary (RAC) jawans were deployed to disperse people.

The ACB team had to get a locksmith to get many doors opened in the ancestral residence since most of them were locked.

A few weeks ago, amidst the ongoing Rajasthan political crisis, an audiotape was leaked where Jain was in the conversation of buying and selling of MLAs with a Union Minister and an MLA.

After the Special Operation Group (SOG) completed their investigation in the case, the ACB has taken Sanjay Jain on remand for four days.

Jain, a resident of Lunkansar was a Youth Congress office-bearer years ago, but after coming into the mainstream politics, Jain started living in Jaipur and gradually established his contacts in the political circles as well as the bureaucracy.
