Rajasthan: Foreign girl alleges forced photography at Jaipur hotel

While the foreign girl was enjoying some sunbathing near the hotel's swimming pool, a group of people allegedly began taking her photograph without her consent

Jaipur(Rajasthan):A 14-year-old girl of foreign nationality, who was visiting Jaipur along with her family, has initiated legal proceedings against unidentified individuals for reportedly capturing her images without her explicit consent while she was at a hotel situated in the Khas Kothi region of Jaipur. This concerning incident was confirmed by the Jaipur police on Wednesday. Amar Singh Ratnu, an officer at the Vidhayakpuri police station, stated that the incident took place on August 7th within the premises of the aforementioned hotel.

"Photographs of the girl were taken without her consent while she was present at the hotel. We are meticulously analysing the footage recorded by the hotel's security cameras to gain a comprehensive understanding of the situation. The investigation is actively progressing as we strive to uncover the truth behind this distressing occurrence,” Ratnu said.

According to official police statements, the foreign teenage girl was leisurely enjoying a sunbath in close proximity to the hotel's swimming pool when a group of individuals allegedly started capturing her pictures without her explicit permission. Feeling extremely uncomfortable due to this invasion of her privacy, she promptly raised an alarm against their intrusive actions, as confirmed by the police. The hotel staff swiftly intervened, ensuring her safety, and promptly notified the local authorities about the incident. Subsequently, the police were immediately dispatched to the hotel premises and promptly commenced their investigation into the matter. The police are also in the process of interrogating individuals who are considered suspects in connection to this case.

Amar Singh Ratnu, who serves as an officer at the Vidhayakpuri police station, has revealed that the authorities have seized three mobile phones that are believed to be linked to this incident. These devices are currently undergoing a thorough examination in order to ascertain any further evidence pertinent to the case at hand. He further elaborated on a similar incident that occurred recently, wherein a foreign girl had reported an instance of harassment during the Dhulandi festivities. In that instance, the accused perpetrator was subsequently apprehended by the police.
