Rajasthan BJP slams Cong over Rahul and Priyanka's UP visit

Congress leaders Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi Vadra were detained as they headed to Hathras to meet the family of the gang-rape victim. Slamming Ashok Gehlot led government in Rajasthan, Rajasthan BJP president Satish Poonia and Union Water Power Minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat said that Chief Minister Gehlot is not serious about law and order and women safety in the state.

Attacking on Congress government, Dr Poonia questioned, "According to government statistics, there has been a great increase in Dalit atrocities in the state. Why Congress President Sonia Gandhi is not speaking on the shameful incidents and crimes with women and girls in Rajasthan ?"

Questioning on Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi's visit to Hatras rape victim's family, he said, " Why they do not come to Rajasthan after several such incidents? Why Priyanka and Rahul are not speaking on the increasing crime and atrocities in Rajasthan? Why they are not coming to meet the victims and their families here. They are not coming to Rajasthan because their government is existing here."

Meanwhile, Union Water Power Minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat strongly condemned those who indulged in politics like rape and said that the incident of Hathras is an unacceptable condemnable incident.

Speaking to media persons, Shekhawat said," I want to ask Priyanka Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi that why they do not see the misdeeds and injustice being done to the daughters of Rajasthan. Will they come to Rajasthan like UP and tell their government or give justice to those daughters? There will be no district in Rajasthan where injustice has been done to the innocent minor girls. The police are also trying to suppress such incidents."

According to sources, a committee under the chairmanship of Dausa MP Jaskaur Meena has been constituted, in which the Malpura MLA, as directed by Dr Satish Poonia, State President of the Bharatiya Janata Party, to investigate the facts of the gangrape incident with two minor girls on 18 September in Baran district.

After reaching Baran, this committee will meet the victims' family and investigate the incidents. The committee will soon submit the report to the state president, sources added.
