Rajasthan assembly introduced bills countering central farm acts

Rajasthan introduced an amendment bill of all three agricultural laws in Parliament today, after Punjab, Rajasthan will become the second state to negate Central Agricultural Laws. The government brought a bill to make the wearing of masks mandatory in the state.

Jaipur:A special session of the 15th Rajasthan Legislative Assembly introduced bills to counter the three farm laws enacted by the Centre recently.

The Gehlot government of Rajasthan has also planned to tread the same path as Punjab.

In order to preserve the interests of farmers, the Rajasthan government amended the Civil Procedure Code 1960 to prevent the attachment of farmland up to 5 acres.

Punishment provisions can be a part of the resolution which will be introduced in the state assembly. The resolution would include provisions to ensure imprisonment in case farmers' produce is purchased at below Minimum Support Price.

Legislation regarding masks to be introduced in the assembly session

The assembly session focused on introducing laws to make the wearing of masks mandatory. So far, the government has been instructing people and raising awareness to wear the masks.

Question Hour and Zero Hour was not conducted during the Assembly session.

After placing the bills in the Legislative Assembly, there will be a meeting of the Work Advisory Committee, in which the day will be fixed for passing these bills in the Assembly and later will be sent to the Governor.

Three separate laws brought in the Assembly to counter the three Central Agricultural Laws recently passed by the parliament.

Civil Procedure Code 1960 will be amended

In order to provide benefits to the farmers, the Rajasthan government decided to amend section 60 (1) of the Civil Procedure Code 1960. After the passing of this bill, up to five acres of agricultural land will not be attached as part of revenue recovery.

Along with this, Parliamentary Affairs Minister Shanti Dhariwal presented the Code of Civil Procedure (Rajasthan Amendment) Bill in the Rajasthan Legislative Assembly today.

After passing amendment bills on the floor of the house, tributes were paid to 12 leaders in the Assembly including former President Pranab Mukherjee, former Governor Ashwini Kumar, former Chief Minister of Gujarat Keshubhai Patel, former Chief Minister Assam Syeda Anwar Taimur, former MP Jaswant Singh, former MP Hari Singh, former MP Radhakrishna Birla, MLA Kailash Chandra Trivedi, former MLA Zakia, former MLA Hiralal Meena, former MLA Shiv Singh, former MLA Rameshwar Bhardwaj, as well to people who died on September 16 after a boat capsized in the Chambal river near Khatoli.
