Rajasthan: Alwar will be soon known for its gold

Rajasthan's Alwar will be soon known for its gold as mineral ores having gold and silver deposits have been recently found in Sariska and Thanagaji areas by the Geological Survey of India. After getting approval from the Central government, mining and extraction in these deposits will begin following the auction bid.

Alwar: The industrial capital of Rajasthan, Alwar is famously known as Singh Dwar of the state as it shares its border with Uttar Pradesh and Haryana. Apart from having various historical monuments and the renowned Sariska National Park, Alwar houses over 15,000 industries and will sooner be known for its gold.

According to the survey conducted by the Geological Survey of India (GSI) in Sariska and Thanagaji areas, around 670 hectares of land at three spots have been marked where gold, silver and copper deposits have been found.

As per the government figures, 41.45 million tonnes of minerals have been found in 670 hectare land of various villages including Harner, Mundiabasakheda and Pratapgarh in Thanagaji and Sariska region. The quantity of gold is 0.08 grams per ton, silver is 6.68 grams per ton and the quantity of copper is 0.37.

On extracting 1 ton of stone, it will yield 0.08 per cent gold.

The Survey of India extracts .02 per cent of the sample from the land for testing in the lab after which its quality and metal are determined.

GSI has been conducting aerial as well as a land survey of Alwar for many years and extraction of a sample from lower land in Thanagaji and Sariska region have been tested regularly.

A report related to this has been prepared and sent to the state government and soon an area of 670 hectares will be brought up for auction by the Department of Mining and the Geological Department. It has to be noted that this area comes under the buffer zone of Sariska and many types of clearance will be required for mining and extraction of gold.

After getting a nod from the Centre and state government, the owner will be given rights for mining according to the bid during auction following which Alwar will dominate the world map with the gold.
