Sojat: A major accident was averted on Tuesday after a goods train on Jaipur-Ahmedabad railway route ran for about 40 km without a loco pilot here in Rajasthan.
The train carrying concrete reached Chandawal Station without the loco pilot. Fortunately, four wagons of the train were stopped by placing sticks and stones on the track.
Goods train runs for 40 km without loco pilot in Rajasthan According to reports, doubling work is going on the railway route by a private company. The construction work is being laid down on Gudiya to Sendra line.
On Monday, the loco pilot parked the train on the new track near Sendra. However, due to the slope, the goods train started moving forward without the loco pilot.
The whole information was given to Bar and Haripur stations, but till then the train also crossed Haripur station.
An attempt was made to stop the train at Chandawal railway station in Gudiya failed. Eventually, the train was stopped near Chandawal railway station.
An investigation is underway.
