Ajmer: A police constable tried to commit suicide at the Ajmer police line late on Saturday night in Rajasthan.
According to the police, Suresh Yadav tried to kill himself by hanging himself near the water tank of the police line.
Some of his colleagues present at that sight took him to the Jawaharlal Nehru Hospital and now his condition is said to be critical.
He was drunk at the time of the incident, police informed.
According to the information, preliminary investigation revealed that the constable Suresh Yadav was earlier posted in Jaipur police line but was later transferred to Ajmer after he was found guilty in connection with a corruption case.
Suresh was upset after being posted in Ajmer and was trying hard to go back to Jaipur, hence in stress, he tried to commit suicide, police added.
The police have been investigating the case.
