Police constable commits suicide in Rajasthan's Jaisalmer

A police official in Jaisalmer committed suicide at a hotel room for unknown reasons. No suicide note was recovered from the spot.

Jaisalmer(Rajasthan):A police constable commited suicide by hanging himself in a hotel room here on Sunday.

Deployed as a guard at a power grid company in Pokhran, constable Mayaram Gat had been staying at a nearby hotel with several other officials.

The incident took place on Sunday evening when all his colleagues went outside. His body was found hanging from a ceiling fan when they came back to the hotel room.

On being informed at about 9.30 pm, police reached the spot and conducted a preliminary investigation.

His body was later sent for post-mortem.

According to the police, no suicide note was recovered from the hotel room.

Further investigation in the matter is underway.
